Posting this is going to be very, very hard. The Little River Zoo here in Norman, OK has officially been shut down. Many have lost their jobs and numerous animals are losing their homes. I have many regrets regarding this issue. I loved the Little River Zoo, yet I never made a single donation until they were in such dire need of help and it was essentially a lost cause. I feel horrible and the wound is only going to be healed with time. However, there is some very good news I have concerning this situation. The Royal Gauntlet, a performance group and well known falconers that come to the Norman Medieval Faire heard about what was happening.

Oklahoma is full of animal rescue centers, sanctuarys and rehabilitation centers. The Little River Zoo located here in my hometown is one of these places. Recently the owner has accumulated a lot of debt and the zoo is no longer available to the public- which is not only cruel to the animals but keeps our local boy scouts and schools from learning about our local wildlife. In addition to that, they are at risk of being shut down. What this means is that the land will be reclaimed and probably turned into a housing district and the animals- some of which are vulnerable or endangered- will be sent to potentially worse facilities and those that
